Tractor Safety Training to be Held in Gering
The 2013 Tractor Safety Trainings will be held in seven locations across the state during May and June.
Any youth 14 or 15 years of age who works on a farm or ranch other than his/her parents’ is required to be certified through a tractor safety course. Extension Educators and field specialists will teach the 2-day courses.
The training in this area will be June 3-4 at the Farm And Ranch Museum (Legacy of the Plains) in Gering.
Cost for the course is $60, which includes all course materials, lunch both days and breaks. Registration is requested a week prior to class. For details or to register, contact the UNL Extension Office 308-632-1480.
2013 Lawn & Garden Radio Show
Jim Schild, UNL Extension Educator will once again co-host the 2013 KNEB Lawn & Garden Show. The show will air on 94.1 from 9:00-10:00a.m. on Saturday beginning April 6 and running through June 22. UNL Extension Educator, Scott Cotton is reminding producers who graze livestock on range and pasture that of one of the side effects of drought can be increased risk of poisoning from toxic plants.
