Estate Planning Workshops to begin on December 16Farmers and ranchers who do not have a will or estate plan might leave behind something they never intended – struggles and headaches for their family. Estate planning might seem complicated, but the best step to take is the first one. Farmers and ranchers can receive help to start, and then finish, their estate plans at a series of estate planning workshops hosted by UNL Extension, through a grant from the North Central Risk Management Education Center. The “Estate Planning Education Program” is broken into five steps to make planning an estate easier.
This program walks participants step-by-step through the confusing process of estate planning free of charge. The first workshop will be held on December 16 at the Panhandle Research and Extension Center at Scottsbluff. The workshop will run from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. local time. Meetings with Dave Goeller will be in January and/or February. Limited time is available with the estate planning attorneys. To register, call Scotts Bluff County Extension at 308-632-1480. Pre-registration is required two weeks prior to the workshop.
